Great Awakening Ministry - Women and Children Resource & Development Center is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), faith based organization founded in 2010 by Beverly Barnes.

Beverly Barnes has over 20 years of experience in the prison system as a volunteer, as well as, a counselor in residential chemical abuse houses. For the past 8 years she has been working with John Sage's Bridges to Life Prison Ministry as one of their Houston Area Staff.

She is also involved as a volunteer Chaplain at the Darrington Unit in Rosharon, Texas, volunteer speaker at Carol Vance Unit IFI Program in Sugarland, Harris County Residential Drug Rehab (WHO-A) in Atascocita Texas, Volunteers of America and also Santa Maria Hostel.

Beverly is the mother of two children and grandmother of three (3). They all understand that her ministry is a kingdom building ministry. She gives her testimony of domestic violence hoping to bring a change in someone's mind, heart and soul.  She is called to be a witness of the delivering power of Jesus Christ, not to be a lawyer or judge.  Beverly's desire is to help someone live a better life and stop the cycle of children repeating their parent's mistakes.
